Elite Candidacy

To be eligible for Elite Mare status, a mare must fulfill the following requirements:

1. Display Excellence in performance or halter by earning either three (3) Division Championships or one (1) Overall Grand Championship or Overall Reserve Championship, or earning a NAMHSA "Superior Event Horse" or  "Superior Division Horse" Merit Award. (Merit awards earned in workmanship or collectibility do not apply).  NAMHSA National or Reserve National Champions in performance or breed are automatically Elite Eligible.  If mare is in a non-US country, than earning the equivalent of a NAMHSA SEH or SDH Merit award is acceptable.  If the country's governing body does not have merit awards, than meeting the requirements for the above merit awards also qualifies.

2. Display Excellence in Breeding by producing two (2) offspring to earn two (2) First Place ribbons or NAN cards (or equivalent) in recognized competition.

Mares fulfilling these requirements may add the Prefix "EM"  to their names in the registry and will be designated as Elite Mares.

Mares fulfilling at least Half of these requirements will be considered Elite Mare Candidates and may use the Prefix "EMC" added to the name of the horse in the registry.  Members need not change the show names of their mares.

(For instance Libria xx would, upon receiving her Elite Mare status, become EM Libria xx.  Elite Mare Candidate Flirtation Z BWS becomes EMC Flirtation Z BWS.)
